  • Build a machine to its completion using accepted industry and Accraply standards with efficient and effective use of time
  • Accurately and systematically troubleshoot during the machine build and set up to determine the cause of the problem and present or implement workable solutions.
  • Assists Engineering with workable solutions to wiring solutions that inhabit build or performance of a machine.
  • Effectively document the machine build and any changes made to the build
  • Work with time necessary to meet the needs of the business and advise direct leader if any overtime is required

Process Engineering

Vacancy Description:

Apprentices will receive training to carry out the following activities in all areas of the Paper Mill:

– Comply with Safety, Quality and Environment regulations and Company policy.

– Ensure good housekeeping in all production areas.

– Participate in the investigation of events that occur, identifying opportunities for improvements in installations/procedures and putting into practice the actions that are defined.

– Form part of the site emergency response team.

– Carry out daily Total Preventative Maintenance checks to ensure associated plant is running to optimum specification and any defects/issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

– Support the Operator Level 1 in performing the production programme in accordance with production targets, complying the quality specification with the greatest overall efficiency possible

– Carry out plant cleaning and maintenance work during scheduled monthly, annual or general downtimes in line with the instructions of the Shift Manager

*Please note that upon completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship, the successful candidate would then be expected to progress onto a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. Salary will increase during the Apprenticeship in line with the achievement of training goals to £30,000 on completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship which is expected to take 3-4 years.

  • Year 1 –  £12k starting salary
  • Year 2 –  Upon completion of Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Processing Industries Operations and City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Process Technology, salary uplift to £18k subject to internal shift placement review
  • Year 3 – Half way through Level 3 NVQ Diploma Processing Industries Operations & City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Process Technology, salary uplift to £24k subject to internal shift placement review
  • Year 4 – Upon completion of Level 3 NVQ Diploma Processing Industries Operations & City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Process Technology, salary uplift to £28k subject to internal shift placement review
  • Rising to £30k once a fully competent Level 2 Operator and appointed to a permanent role in line with internal appraisal system
