Security System Engineering

This Apprenticeship covers the installation and maintenance of a range of security, fire and emergency systems. As the security systems industry becomes more complex, the need for highly skilled engineers grows. Security and fire systems installers fit and service electronic systems that detect intruders and fire, and control access to buildings or sites electronically. On this Apprenticeship, you could be installing fire or security systems and rigging them to control panels; testing systems; explaining to customers how to use the system; and repairing faulty systems. You'll probably be working with technologies like wire-free system links or infrared and fibre optics – you could even learn to fit complex arrangements like CCTV and integrated systems.
