STEGTA Excellence Award – Joshua Rae

STEGTA Excellence Award

A huge Congratulations to Joshua Rae of Atkins who has been awarded a STEGTA Excellence Award for Outstanding Performance in Design & Draughting!
We asked Josh how he felt about winning the award “I received the Trophy for Excellence on the Construction Design and Draughting qualification in February 2017. I am really proud of my achievement and feel like I have made good progress since September 2015 and this award signifies this to me, but also identifies that there is still room for improvement. I couldn’t thank Helen Wilson (Training Officer) enough for recognising my development and being a strong support along the way of my apprentice journey so far.”

Training Officer Helen Wilson said “I have chosen Josh at Atkins, Manchester to receive this excellence award for his contribution and performance on the Design and Draughting qualification.
Not only does he have to overcome health and family issues, but he produces work to a superb standard over and above the targets that I set. He is a valuable team member in the transportation team and regularly ensures he is involved in extra work such as the Health & Safety and the creation of the apprentice network group.
He uses his initiative and makes purposeful decisions to enhance his career together with his employer such as his application to his professional engineering institution and establishing a mentor to gain EngTech status. He is a professional, considerate and intelligent learner and should be praised for his efforts. Well done Josh!”
