John Whitby
I served an Electrical/Electronic apprenticeship with Gee Traction/ Alsthom in Trafford Park Manchester prior to becoming a Training Instructor for the GEC Group of companies at the Trafford Park site. I joined Stegta in 1993 and undertook various jobs including recruitment, quality assessor/training officer before becoming Chief Executive in 2003
following a very beneficial
succession plan within the
organisation. I'm also a
Governor at Wellacre
Academy School and former
Governor at Trafford College.
Ian Parker
My relationship with stegta began in 1975 as a Mechanical Technician Apprentice with Budenberg Gauge Company Ltd. An Engineering career spanning 35 years followed, involving roles such as hands on Production work, through to Team Leadership, Production Management and finally Operational Management with the Anglo / French Calibration division of DH-Budenberg Ltd. After a 2 year period as a stegta Board Member, I finally joined the Team In February 2011, as Business Development Manager.
Carol Feesey
I joined Stegta in 1998 with 20 year office experience, in particular in a training environment. I am an AAT Technician and responsible for the Financial, Quality & Administration aspects of the business. I manage various Contracts with funding bodies and partners, and monitor staff Performance & learner Outcomes. I also coordinates Quality activities both within the organisation and with external bodies such as Investors in People.
Paul Howarth
I joined STEGTA in 2003 after a 23 year career in engineering and a 4 year career in college teaching. Throughout my working life I have undertaken a variety of engineering roles, from the manufacture of large industrial equipment to maintaining and servicing machinery nationwide. I have supervised production workshops within the UK and have been part of a team that manufactured large industrial heating equipment that was exported worldwide.
Rick Jones
I completed my apprenticeship with Johnson Hunt. I spent a year at college on PEO level 2. After this I then spent time on the shop floor before I moved into the drawing office to continue my apprenticeship in design at NVQ level 4. I then worked in the design office at Park Engineering where I worked for 9 years, on 2D & 3D design in both the Automotive and Aircraft industries before spending a short time in electrical Installation, I began working at STEGTA in October 2007.
Mark Neild
My career began back in 1990 at Mono Pumps where I served my time as a Plater/Welder. In 1999 I moved onto work at HMP/YOI Forest Bank Prison as a Prison Custody Officer, where I ran the prison Fabrication & Welding workshop which was set up to house 20 adult offenders.
In 2005 the opportunity to work as an Engineering Training Officer arose at STEGTA, This is an extremely rewarding job to be able to work with young people and employers from a range of different engineering disciplines.
Andrea Roberts
I started my apprenticeship in Engineering almost 20 years ago in 1992 when I joined the chemical company Ciba Geigy in Clayton, Manchester, as their only female engineer. I specialised in Electrical & Instrumentaion Maintenance as well as Chemical & Pharmaceutical Process Operations. During my time there I also trained as a NVQ Assessor. After many years working as an Engineer, I decided to move full-time into NVQ Assessing and earlier this year joined Stegta as a Training Officer.
Ray Collier
I served a five year Press Toolmaking apprenticeship and progressed through the years to be a Toolroom and Production manager. My job involved designing and producing power press tooling for the manufacture of hardware for the commercial vehicle industry.
I have worked for Stegta for nearly three years and my role at Stegta is to teach the basic skills on milling, turning and hand fitting techniques for NVQ Performing Engineering Operations Level 2.
Nicola McGivern
My working life started 13 years ago working in an office based environment, I have undertaken a variety of job roles in my career. I started out working for a company called Parceline as a billing clerk, working alongside the admin team. Also, I worked for Rentokil Tropical Plants for 7 years as the Purchase Ledger Clerk/Administrator. I joined Stegta in September 2007 as a Receptionist/Administrator, and then earlier this year I moved into
the Recruitment Department
working as the Recruitment
Co-ordinator.
Christine Skelton
I joined STEGTA in October 2008 as an administrator. Previously I worked for 15 years at Trafford College in the Careers and Guidance section. Just before joining STEGTA I worked for 3 years at University Hospital South Manchester at Wythenshawe in the Undergraduate Education Centre for medical students.
