STEGTA Apprentice to represent UK in WorldSkills Final 2015 in Brazil

Patrick Devanney, who will be joining Chris Renwick & Dominic Trees to represent the UK, is a second year apprentice at Carnaud Metalbox in Shipley, Leeds.

After all of their hard work and dedication, they will be flying out to Sáo Paulo in Brazil on August 7th 2015. The finals will run from August 11th – August 16th.

Apprenticeship Fair at Sale Waterside Arts Centre

On 12th February 2015, STEGTA attended the Apprenticeship Fair at Sale Waterside Arts Centre co-ordinated by Trafford Connexions. This was a great opportunity to meet people who may be thinking of pursuing a career in engineering after school / Sixth Form and give them some further information, advice and guidance.

We are pleased to announce that our Electrical/Electronic Engineering Training Officer, Andrea Roberts, has given birth to a little girl named Imogen Aurora Ingley Roberts.

Imogen arrived on 30th October 2014 at 3:10am and weighed 4lb 4oz. Both mother and baby are doing well and we send Andrea our best wishes for her maternity leave..

Northern Manufacturing and Electronics Exhibition

On 1st-2nd October the STEGTA team attended the Northern Manufacturing and Electronics Exhibition held at Event City in Trafford Park for the second consecutive year.

The exhibition is dedicated to serving the needs of manufacturing and electronics industries in the North of England and is a great opportunity for STEGTA to discuss any potential training requirements or prospective Apprenticeship positions with employers.

We look forward to returning in 2015!

STEGTA Celebrates National Women in Engineering Day!

A day dedicated to raising the profile and celebrating the achievements of women in engineering.

National Women in Engineering Day has been set up by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES) to celebrate its 95th anniversary. On this day they want to focus attention on great opportunities for women in engineering, at a time when it has never been more important to address the engineering skills shortage. STEGTA Promotes Engineering and Construction Apprenticeships

On 13th February 2014 the STEGTA team headed to Sale Waterside Arts Centre to promote Engineering and Construction Apprenticeships to young people who are currently contemplating their options upon leaving school or College this year.

The event was a great opportunity for young people and their parents to ask questions and find out more about a range of careers and jobs available to them.
